Go BJ! Looks like you made quite the impression on her!
I guess BJ saw an opportunity to get some pussy.
Scratch her behind the ears. Most cats dig that…
And, despite miscommunication, many of them actually like tummyrubs quite a bit. It’s just that a lot of what we take as “offering tummy for rubs” is instead “offering an opening to play-fight.” There’s a trick you can use to tell the difference, but I forgot what.
As first dates go, that was probably a good one…for BJ…
If there is a second date, he can sing “Soft Kitty” to her…
Nice recovery BJ! With a couple more years of learning social interaction he could actually become a smooth operator.
Second date:
“Hey what’s that little red dot on the wall over there?”
===
Third date:
“Look, I got you this cute little diamond studded pink collar! It even has a little bell!”
===
I just don’t know what to say about fur that blushes.

Has Clamor never been informed that she might be attractive to male humans?
===
Interesting that Lorion knows (or thinks he knows) that Kazom hasn’t granted Mel his three wishes. Do we know that?
Does Kazom even owe Mel three wishes? Is Mel his master?
But Clamor’s “Oh snap!” makes me think she’s taking that as a dig at Kazom’s vastly reduced power.
That is a really good point. How did he know the status of the wishes?
Unless of course, maybe he thought that since he was still around that it must be only for that reason. Which would explain Kazom getting that pissed. By having his love and loyalty reduced to mere genie subservience.
Um… maybe through Magic?
i don’t think Lorion does know. He’s making assumptions.
Mel isn’t Kazom’s master any more than his Father was. His Father and Kazom were friends and allies, and Kazom took Mel under his protection out of his personal sense of duty, not as Mel’s genie.
Mel’s probably wished for a lot of things growing up. Kazom’s probably granted some of the more harmless, childish ones, enough to take the edge off the compulsion most genies have, if he ever even had such a compulsion.
But why did Loriel make the assumption that Mel is Kazom’s master, AND that Kazom had not granted any wishes? That’s very strange.
You have to remember that Lorion knows a lot of stuff, but, he isn’t all knowing or anything like that. It is his lack of knowing that got him into trouble that he currently in with Kazom. Like there being a Genie Lord at Melvin house, he wasn’t inspection that. But, he probably knows about the witches and genie that are pulling that magic out of the ethos, because he can feel it when it happening.
He know the Genie creed of granting of three wishes per customer, he hasn’t seen or sense that Kazom has been doing that for Melvin or pulling magic out of the ethos either. Kazom take a fairly low profile when it comes to using his magic, so Loriol either over looks or doesn’t see that Kazom is there.
Because of Loriol limited knowledge of what really going on, he jumps to the wrong conclusion as to the real nature of the relationship between Melvin and Kazom. So he doesn’t see or he can’t see, that it primarily a friendship relationship and not a Genie/Master relationship.
He probably has never seen that before and he is ignorant of it. That why he asking the question, he really doesn’t know it and he really want know what going on.
Seeing Kazom getting mad, he is astute enough to know that he probably cross some unseen line that he didn’t know was there. So he beats a hasty retreat to try and smooth thing over with Kazom and to go for a later more agreeable meeting with Melvin some time in the future.
I don’t think he does know. I think he’s just taking subtle, insulting shot at Kazom without, you know, actually coming out and insulting him.
That´s good , BJ. Sometimes a direct, honest approach is best. You´re learning, son.
But why did the “direct, honest approach” work with Clamor?
And it didn’t just work, but actually flustered her.
Most girls as attractive as she is get hit on enough to know that they are sexually desirable, that they have higher status in the sexual market than most of the boys who approach them. BJ is low status, and his over-eager approach girls advertises that. He’s totally lacking in the aloofness that males and females both use to signal status.
Clamor is different, though. She’s scary and intimidating, and has even directly threatened BJ.
And yet he still makes this approach. He is not intimidated.
In her view, his indifference to her scary aspect must signal the confidence that goes with his significantly higher status
The idea that he’s simply oblivious never occurs to her. My earlier guess a few strips ago is confirmed: no one has ever told her they want to pet her tail because it looks so soft. No one has ever told her how sexy she is.
Especially not someone who is friends with and under the protection of a Genie Lord. Such a person must be of the highest status.
She’s a complete innocent, and is utterly at BJ’s mercy.
Moreover, her bluster signals her own weakness; it is only a (misguided) attempt to please her magical master. As Kazom says, she’s a puppet. A natural submissive.
Get a camera, BJ, an SLR body with the standard 35 or 50mm lens, which would appear to her as a staring eye, wide open and dilated with interest.*
Ask her to pose for you.
Putty in you hands, BJ. Warm, soft, sexy putty. SemteXXX putty, to be sure, so be careful, and do not allow her to even attempt to dominate you. That would disappoint her, and you wouldn’t want to see her when she was disappointed.

* As a pro photographer friend of mine said, a good camera is an electric panty remover.
I think that Clamor does not think of herself as having high status–among those with whom she associates (Witches and their servants), she is rather low in the pecking order, her relative status even compared to other servants being determined mainly by the status of her Master and how well he favors her or not. Her only source of pride seen so far is in being the servant of somebody important.
Some how I knew BJ would go after Clamor and get all stare eye everything. BJ must really be getting deeply emotionally involved with Clamor in his mind and is developing idea’s already as he is already referring to her as a girl and not as a cat girl. “LOOK OUT”! I see Lorion honoring Kazom demand to stay away from Melvin, because he doesn’t want to get into fight with Kazom. But, I see Lorion using BJ interest in Clamor and to have her for a girlfriend as a back door approach to having access to Melvin, because, BJ and Melvin will still be spending time with each other along with BJ girlfriend and her escort too.
But, it doesn’t look like Clamor is interested at this point, but, given her choices she may settle for having BJ for her boyfriend. Although Clamor was originally a cat before she became a familiar, I doubt that she going to want a male cat for her boyfriend. It kind of like the two ugliest people going out with each other, because, nobody else will go out with them.
To seal that enchantment between BJ and Clamor, have kiss each other and fall madly love with each other.
BJ, “GOD GIFT TO WOMEN KIND, STRIKES AGAIN”!
It definitely will add more tension to the story and add to the suspense as to what going to happen next.
Incidentally, the magical ‘attitude adjustment’ that Melvin inadvertently inflicted on BJ appears to have worn off. Apparently Melvin’s magic has a time limit… which could soon leave Red needing some support.
Ohh! Now that could lead to an awkward situation!
Oooh, beastiality! BJ will soon have to change his name to Claude Balls.
LOL!!!
I would wager that Clamor is used to being treated as a mere minion, and thus is unused to being treated with any sort of admiration rather than contempt or fear. Even though BJ, as a “mere” Mortal (using the term in the sense used in IDOJ/Bewitched, since that is where CD drew from), is “beneath” Witches such as her Master, he’s still given her something new to think about by professing his interest in her.
Also, her reference to “favorite numbers” implies her unfamiliarity with telephones–she is probably accustomed to whatever Witches use for communication when they do not bother with sending a messenger in person.
By the way…is Clamor *blushing*?
Seems to be, yes; although how that works through fur is beyond me. And as I said above, it indicates BJ’s made a hit.
This is the comic world. As we all know some times physics are bent for affect. Plus, it helps you to emotionally connect with her.
Granted–blushing is a uniquely human display, as far as I know. I live with a cat, and pay close attention to her expressions–and cannot think of what she might do to indicate exactly what is happening here.
I’ll note, though, that if you erase the blush, Clamor’s more human expression still does a pretty good job of getting her emotions across.
Even at that, I acknowledge this does not descend to the level of a giant sweat drop or hash-mark forehead veins–two oft used but rarely needed conventions.
If it didn’t come through: You are a good enough artist, BACH-MANN, that you don’t need this crutch.)
Thank you sir. Nice of you to say. 😉
Heh. Looks like Clamor isn’t used to humans telling her she’s an amazing girl. Or maybe she isn’t used to compliments in general.
Well, she IS a familiar – kind of down there on the same level as “minion”. So, yeah, she probably isn’t used to getting treated as an equal. Or have the experience to be able to tell if BJ is trying to con her.
Hah – that ‘all due respect’ shit didn’t last long did it? 😛
Perhaps all the respect deemed due has been given.
Clamor may find a human boyfriend very useful as safe way to learn how to better interact with humans and how to manipulate them without the use of force.
I’m supposed to believe he doesn’t have a thing for Clarence but that it’s love at first sight with this creepy furry monster thing that tried to kill him and that he’s head over heels for it, even though he knows nothing about except that it literally knows nothing about anything, not even telephones? Yeah not buying that.
