The Melvin Chronicles

Hey guys! These past weeks have been quite heated, but I think it’s time I give you all an update. Thankfully CD Rudd agreed to help me out on this one.

Let me get straight to the point: The situation in Venezuela is quite dire right now. For those not in the loop, after the recent elections in Venezuela, where the opposition got an unprecedented victory over Maduro’s regime, Maduro and his lackeys didn’t accept their defeat, and things have only escalated since.

I want to let you all know that I am safe. Same for my family and friends as of now. But things are uncertain in the streets, between mass arrests and abuse by the supposed authorities. As of now, more online services keep being restricted, Twitter being completely blocked as I write this (VPNs, thankfully work just fine). My point with all these gloom and doom is, I legit don’t know what to expect from the coming days. I want to hope for the best, but even that’s an uncertain scenario.

That’s why, as I stated on my last update, I need to focus on my paying work for the time being. It pains me to sideline the comic, as I know it’s the main reason you all started to follow my work to begin with. But as things are, I need to prioritize my Patreon work and Commissions, for my own security and that of my family. I am even considering new sides hustle to keep the lights on, as seen above!…

Okay, jokes aside, I will keep you updated over here of any worthwhile news. Should the worst happen, I will still find a way to remain in contact, and it’s a good time to remind you all of our Discord, where I am so active that you wouldn’t even believe the world is falling apart around me! (seriously, I’m becoming the “This is fine” meme)

Also, I usually never feel comfortable plugging myself like this, but seeing as I am making an effort this month to be extra active on Patreon I would seriously appreciate if you gave it a look this month, as any kind of support these days is much appreciated… I wish I didn’t need an full-on national crisis to focus myself more on my Patreon, but life catches up to you fast!

I am sorry for bringing all this doom and gloom here all of a sudden, but I needed to be honest with you all. Things are serious out here, beyond my control, and I don’t know what to expect. I will bring the comic back as soon as possible, but first I need to know where I am standing on this country. Keep checking here for posts on the basics. I will answer any questions you may have, and you might find a couple of surprises, courtesy of CD. Who was once again a life saver with his help on this one.
