Heh, BJ managed to accidentally ruin the cool goth girl’s fun. He really has a way with the ladies, doesn’t he?
By the way, shout out to Tom Sewell for somehow guessing Clarice’s name on her intro page. Carlos was flabbergasted, especially since Tom’s logic for the name he came up with was completely different from Carlos’s own name selection process.
Like I said last week or so, that not Miss Blackwood the School teacher. Now the question is, who is she. Here are our choices.
1. A student Teacher.
2. A new Transfer student new today.
3. She a witch that masquerading as student Teacher or as the New transfer student.
4. She a Genie that masquerading as student Teacher or as the New transfer student.
5. She Rose the Succubus that masquerading as student Teacher or as the New transfer student.
Don’t know, but, she is definitely some in the know as to what going on and she probably has some kind of powers that we don’t know about yet. But, there something about Melvin naming the Succubus Rose and getting this girl name that very suspicious.
We also have a discussion between BJ and JJ that just off screen with Bj asking the question of: Christina who, again? With JJ telling him about the Galleria where the bottle Genie fell into a coma. We know that it JJ that saying this, because, she the one that keeping track of everything.
Wait … do we KNOW who’s this Christina is? As has this something to do with Blue Genie?
Matter of fact we do. She the Genie that kind of a pop star in the human world who Guano is trying to get to take over his position, because he thinks he going to be the New Haji after Haji retires. She showed up a few times in this series and has even talk to Jeanie a few times even. The last time Christina talked to Jeanie, she figured out it wasn’t Jeanie that she was talking to, but, it was the Blue Djinn instead. Christina let be known that she knew that Blue Djinn was masquerading Jeanie and he zap her and she went into a coma.
We also know that her master is dead and her bottle was buried with him and that how she getting away from having to have a new master. She is basically free from having to serve a master now. You won’t find this information on the Melvin Chronicle side. But, it will be on the Jeanie Bottle side.
This all I know about it and Yes, it has something to do with the Blue Djinn.
They’re talking about Asha, whom the Blue Djinn captured and has apparently either knocked into a coma somehow, or put a fake human in Asha’s place, to make it look like she’s in a coma. CD’s very coy about it in the comic, but it’s very heavily implied that Asha is actually Cristina Aguilera, the real life singer of such early 2000s pop hits as “Genie in a Bottle”.
Clarice, when did you get here, have you seen Wanda?

“Clarice” is the name of the FBI agent played by Jodie Foster in The Silence of the Lambs.
Yeah, that was why I figured you’d guessed that name. Likely based on the very creepy poster for Silence of the Lambs, with the skull-moth.
Ironically, Carlos had not seen that poster before I mentioned it as being the likely inspiration for your comment.
I take it both comic sites can’t use Christina Aguilera’s full name, due to legal obligations?
More of a general carefulness to avoid direct references to the real world. Implying that it’s a known real person, rather than stating it outright, provides better suspension of disbelief. Or something like that.
You mean like never actually saying “Sid” from I Dream of Technicolor was Sidney Sheldon?

I take it the next comic page, is gonna be late?
Not really, it should go next Thursday as planned. This page was posted Thuesday to make up for the lack of updates last week (Santa Red was previously posted on my Patreon, so it wasn’t a real update for everyone). And just in case you missed, we have moved to a single page update per week at the moment. My apologies, but two pages per weeks have prove to be more than what I can handle, at least for now.
I tried to look up the meaning of Clarice le Fanu. I found the reference to Sheridan. I didn’t realize Carlos that you and CD had so many fans in the lower 48. Clarice means “clear” an Fanu could mean either “the fool” of “Gift from God.”
