193: I Bet the Scooby Gang Doesn’t Have to Deal With This Stuff
The classic riddle of how to explore the vault of treasure with your crush, your best friend, and the creepy genie. The girls can’t be left alone together, nor can they be left alone with the creepy genie… I think I’d take the Fox and the Chicken over this one.
Also, heads up everyone. I am taking the rest of the month off. There will be an special post by the end of the month, but no actual page for this weekend nor the next. Sorry about that. Lets hope Melvin can figure a way out of this with the extra time!
There are typos that Robert can repair. We sill in panel 2 should be We’re still and fill should be filled.
A catfight may still result from this, no matter what Melvin tries to do to prevent it.
So we know why Holly dislikes Red, but is there anything else besides Holly’s assault on Red that is fuelling Red’s dislike of Holly?
It goes a little beyond just this recent scuffle. Which isn’t even the first one. But I can’t say more for now.
Well, I hope they can reconcile and be close friends in the future.
Red says, and I quote: “You owe me a *dress*, a shirt, and a bra” which means at least two fights resulting in clothing damage.
Typos should now all be corrected.
Uh, I sill (;-)) see, well, “sill” in panel 2.
Considering that Red and Holly look surprisingly similar to Daphne and Velma, its probably not a coincidence that the title of this comic is about the scooby gang/mystery inc.
Hey gang, let’s NOT split up!
No, no, it’s pretty clear that this is only going to work if everyone splits up.
No, no, no, no, NO! Everyone knows that you always split up so that the monster/murderer/creature doesn’t have a chance to catch you all together.
Creepy genie needs Red to exist in the future, so I’d put them together and keep Mel with Holly.
The problem is that Creepy Genie is indeed Creepy, and Melvin has all sort of worries about leaving the girls alone with him.
I wonder why Melvin hasn’t conjured up a new top for Red. I’m sure he’s more than capable of it. Maybe a nice little leather “bondagesque” type jacket.
Lots of buckles, zips and strategically placed cut-outs.
Doing magic in front of Holly? Bad idea.
And he still might be a bit drained from the confinement earlier.
One the one hand, I approve. On the other hand, that sort of complexity would make this comic come out even slower than it already does, haha. Hollum’s poor hands!
You should know, Melvin: Don’t split the party. Especially when one member of the party is Creepy Evil. Or is it Chaotic Creepy?
So, did Kahin *not* dispel Melvin’s female impersonation (i.e. the last few strips were all in Melvin’s head), or did Melvin restore his girlish facade (if so, why) ?
As to “why”, that would be because Holly has not seen him as Melvin here, and doing so would give him away as being a witch. So that’s a no-go, as Holly hates witches.
But I think you were right the first time; the gender-switch back was imagined.
The previous several pages were all flashback.
