BJ, or Boyd Johnson, thinks himself the ladies man. He couldn't be more wrong, but that doesn't stop him from trying to woo the fairer sex when he can.
Owner of The House Of The Rising Fun. Van is a laid back old stoner who likes to reminisce about the early days of tabletop RPGs. He often tells amazing stories that are hard to believe.
Red was a boy until a new genie tried to get Melvin a girlfriend. That's when the genie turned Red into a girl so Melvin could practice talking to girls, and forgot to turn her back before disappearing. Red is hopeful that her situation is only temporary.
It look like there going for a grudge match to get even with Liam. But, I have a sneaking feeling that there going to fail at that match too. Of course I could be wrong too.
It seems like a two player game, so in theory its really just a game of Liam vs. BJ, with Red and Melvin engaging in ethically shaky coaching. As it is the final round of the tournament, I’m assuming the Red and Melvin both entered on their own and didn’t make it as far as BJ.
It looks to me like BJ is just using a single exploit strategy. It’s a clever strategy if you catch someone off guard with it, allowing him to get to the final round. However, in a well-designed game, those kind of strategies fall completely apart if your opponent is ready for them. It looks like Red is plays a more conventional strategy rather than BJs flashy approach. I don’t think the issue is that BJ as dumb, so much as he is too smart for his own good.
Liam smells like the kind of weenie with money who will buy a hundred decks to get the killer cards no ordinary player will ever have–or who forges them.
And it wouldn’t be–except that it is the perfect counter to BJ’s chosen method of attack. If BJ had not combined his attackers into a single unit for the horde charge, then he would still have two of them left alive even if Liam had used the same kill-one-attacker to counter.
I don’t know how this game works yet, but it’s an instant kill…no saves, if there even are saves. Kinda badass, especially used at the right time.
Being this implies a strategic game, I wonder what the gang will come up with to defeat him. Also, I sorta hope Liam tripped and dropped that mallet on his toe. I can hear his neighs of pain now!
that was a tough break what are with cards do they just get all of them at the start or draw them
Some to start and others are drawn as the rounds go on.
ah interesting so kind of like a tcg game in a tabletop game
Are the cards shuffled or do you select them? Or you can pick some to start with and shuffle the rest?
And who is the guy smoking?
He’s Just a Guy.
@Luna
Smoking Guy: “My name is pronounced ‘Gee’, it’s French.”
lol

Was BJ incharge of their first loss to the pimple king to?
Maybe third time is the charm or maybe Melvin and or Red should come up with the plan.

Wait, this must be from the previous tournament. Red isn’t yet feminized. So this is what happened before, not the current game.
Go back two strips to when the panel borders first turn cloudlike to represent a flashback. It says this was 6 months ago.

I’m not so sure about that instantly killing one melee attacker doesn’t seem that powerful a card.

One warrior would have been a third of BJs force if hadn’t combined them.

I got very much the same impression.
The above comment was in reponse to Tom Sewell’s remark.
BJ: Okay! We do the same thing but this time Red cosplays as the war mallet girl.
Red: What!?
Liam seems the type of boy that would be easily flustered by a pretty girl.
