BJ, or Boyd Johnson, thinks himself the ladies man. He couldn't be more wrong, but that doesn't stop him from trying to woo the fairer sex when he can.
Red was a boy until a new genie tried to get Melvin a girlfriend. That's when the genie turned Red into a girl so Melvin could practice talking to girls, and forgot to turn her back before disappearing. Red is hopeful that her situation is only temporary.
And I may just be groggy before sleepytime–putting on my Teletubbies onsie does that to me–But I’m having trouble following the dialog on this one. “As soon as” she can what?
While Melvin was recounting The Fight V, Red was in the bathroom changing out of her uniform. As to what she means by as soon as she can, that will be revealed. 😉
Kazom is old, meaning he has very little magic left. He’s going to want to use it on in dire situations. Helping Melvin cheat at a game is not a good use of his life force.
I agree. Red seems very uncomfortable. Last we saw of her she was storming through to, as it’s been confirmed, the bathroom. I wonder how aware of the oggle eyes she is, or if this is a residual effect of whatever prompted her to say, “girls suck”
I’d say 50/50 odds either she’s really aware of all the boys looking at her and what they’re probably thinking or she’s completely unaware as she still doesn’t think of herself as a girl someone would look at.
Given she’s sighing and saying she’s got to get out of there I’d say the former and she’ll be back as soon as she’s disguised herself (baggy clothes, a cap, that sort of thing) to try and hide as much of her girlitude as possible.
The question is, having just recently been a boy, would you ask the company that is exploiting your likeness for anything? Would she even be a model if not for her father?
Depends if her parents have changed from the IDOJ comic, if not they probably did the negotiating meaning lots of money rather than rare cards. Assuming she actually cares about the game. There’s plenty of other games she could have bonded with the other two over given she was supporting last time not competing from what we saw.
I see it as an incredible coincidence that Red looks like the artist’s
illustration of War Mallet, that she can use for Cosplay, Game Promotions/events
and maybe her modeling career.
It doesn’t really seem to me BJ and Melvin are really seeing Red so much as a girl. Yes, BJ compared her to Red Sonja, but it was more in the spirit of, well, I guess if you had to be changed into a girl, at least you’re a hot one. It’s like he was looking on the bright side in his way. I would expect awkwardness and feelings of intimidation otherwise. We haven’t seen that yet. It will be interesting to see this develope.
Honesty while I think they make a cute couple (at least in IDOJ) he probably thinks of her as a brother/friend still. It’ll take time for him to see her as a girl and then it could go either way to “date me” or “your like a sister I never had”.
From Red’s instant recognition in panel 2 of the topic, it seems that BJ brings up “The Fighting V” fairly often–often enough that his friends are annoyed by it.
Seeing those guys watching her kind of sums up the straight geeks out there. Also reminds me an episode of big bang where the store owner yells, ” I swear I’ll hose everyone down.”
When did the costume change happen?

Probably a modeling gig her parents have her set for…
I wonder if there going to use Red to do the distraction number on Liam next time, to get that troubles card away from him so that they can win.
cant elvin ask Kazom for rare cards to help
Of course, Melvin can ask. And, of course, Kazom will talk him out of cheating. Another factor is that Kazom is pretty damned lazy, even for a cat.

Red is not liking her new popularity with her former sex.

Is the character that Red resembles (War Mallet) from the game in question?
Let’s see her card(s)!
My read is that she is the model used for the War Mallet ad.
So she should have access to some pretty nifty cards.

Things to consider. 😉

If there was to be a movie eventually……
It is not a coincidence. 😉
Plot of the story? Red will destract the enemies with her new body and they will win the tournament.
Ah, yes, the nerdquest begins in the left of the last panel, with SIGH, and a wolf whistle, and hearts-for-eyes…
However, BJ hasn’t made a pass at Red yet. Possibly fear for his life is a factor?

If Kazom spends most of his time napping, shouldn’t he pop into his bottle as soon as he falls asleep? Or is there an exception for catnaps?
