Then his stepson became a beautiful young woman, and though initially shocked, it didn’t take him long to see her new potential for show business. Mary ThorntonMary is an intelligent, beautiful woman who found herself the trophy wife of a prominent Hollywood producer. With her son transformed into a female, she sees it as a happy situation that could possibly bring them closer to each other. Comics: 19 |
Tiffany "Red" ThorntonRed was a boy until a new genie tried to get Melvin a girlfriend. That's when the genie turned Red into a girl so Melvin could practice talking to girls, and forgot to turn her back before disappearing. Red is hopeful that her situation is only temporary. Comics: 226 |

I’m guessing it’s her entrance interview for Southeil. Since Mary had called Principal Lazarra in the last page.
Well, it didn’t take Mary long to get on board with Clarence being a girl. This is still the night of the transformation into a girl by Clarence. So we know what Mary thinks of this transformation, but, Henry is still having problems with it.
Poor Henry and Clarence!

Clarence your mom is nuts… … … I mean, Clarence has been ‘Tiffany’ (from Mary’s point of view) for all of a few hours by this point – and the first thing she can think of is a way to get in with the movers and shakers at her old school????

Mary has likely been planning what she would have done if she had a daughter since Clarence was born. Don’t know what reason she didn’t have a second child, but the dream stayed alive. It now seems to her like everything is going fine, and can’t even or hasn’t thought about how Clarence, now Tiffany is taking this.
Agreement to your assessment to Mary response to Clarence being transformed into a girl and she probably already had the name of Tiffany picked out as to the name that she would use to name her daughter too.
