I don’t know if the Cosmic Universe will knock some sense into Mary, or someone else will.. but 1 thing is clear: Mary needs a heavy hit in the head.
Right… Red likely won’t be ruling over anything.
Whats more likely to happen is her crashing and burning, especially once her period kicks in for the first time.
Still, it will be interesting to see how she does in the future.
There’s been a hefty timeskip between the end of BACH-MANN’s run and the start of Carlos’s. Red has definitely experienced her first period already, as of this page.
Um, this is a flashback, and as hir parents wasted no time in getting hir into that school … maybe not.
This happens to be flash back to the past of between 6 to 9 month period or so. So we already know that Mary didn’t get the hit in the Head that she deserves and Tiffany has already had between 6 to 9 periods and she still going.
What I would like to see is how Tiffany is dealing with each situation. Things like seeing the girls naked and still having kind of a guys kind of mind and such. Like how did Tiffany deal with those other three girls when they jumped on her and before she was ready to deal with them and also not being use to being a girl. Like the other girl coming to her defense and ultimately becoming her friend and thing like that at the school. Seance where she is modelling ladies or girls close and walking out on the cat walk. They also used her as a model for one of those games. When they have those girls doing a live performance, they usually provide male escorts for them too. They will provide a one male escort for each girl there using. Let say that there one male escort short and Tiffany ask if she could get Melvin as her escort to fill out the full number of Male escorts that they need and there paying $100.00 to the male escort and of course Marvin going to agree to do that too.
The problem with molding your child to be ruthless is that you’re practically begging them to use those skills against you. It’s like the Sith Rule of Two–as soon as the Apprentice becomes powerful enough to do so, they will overthrow the Master.
Did you read the Darth Bane trilogy as well?
I always found that to be really stupid, too, since a smart Master would almost always hold something back to keep their Apprentice biding their time to learn that thing, but almost invariably the Apprentice will get fed up and find another way to overthrow their Master, with whatever knowledge they’d held back likely lost with their death. Can you imagine what might’ve been lost over the thousands of years since Darth Bane?
Speaking of, Didn’t Palpatine kill his master in his sleep.
I thought we would have seen her her first day at school and meeting her rival.
We will, later. For now, it’s time to return to the main story, and let Red’s First Day fall into a holding pattern, at least until the end of the Hypnos story.
Should Mary be saying Intent or Intend in that final bubble?

I don’t think Red will be the same type of Queen, Mary wants her to be.
Mary should really have put Tiffany’s shirt on her before the skirt if it’s supposed to be tucked in.
I’m still confused as to the time line. Where does this fit in with BACH-MANN’s story? Is Southeil a different school? Where are we, for instance, relative to this? comic=11-who-was-bullying-whom
The uniform is similar, but slightly different.
Well, as you all know, the MC storyline is full of gaps on it’s timeline, from the days Melvin spend with his dad, to the moment when Kazom came to Melvin’s live, the events leading to Jeanie’s arrival, the immediate aftermath of her leaving, and of course, the summer timeskip I introduce.
Now, I am trying to address most of this gaps on my storyline as for now, namely Melvin’s and Kazom’s past, and the summer timeskip. Yet, something I am sure most of us wanted to know from the start, was how Clarence transformation into Tiffany/Red affected her life, from the start we did skip the immediate reaction of her parents, her introduction to her new school, and her first steps into modeling. This are aspects that are really important for her character, but are more difficult to address in the main story without cutting the peace of the current events.
So I came with this flashback storyline, probably the first of many, to fill this gaps on Red’s life, starting with her first day at the Southeil Academy, to properly introduce her meeting with her rival Deborah, her new friend Patrika, among other characters. To be precise, this storyline takes place almost immediately after her name change, but some time before the tournament storyline, being her first day on the Southeil Academy, the all girls school she attends, so almost a year apart from the page you mention (being from the first day of her second year at Southeil).
As for the uniform change, that’s a soft artistic retcon on my part, drawing them this way is just easier on me, sorry for the confusion!
Thanks, that cleared the situation up nicely. One last question: Robert thinks Red has just had her first period, while Larry thinks that some 6-9 months have passed since the original transformation. Which one is correct?
If you are going to do more flashbacks to this transitional period (no pun intended, but it is fun to point it out) It might be good to put some kind of note in the first frame to help calendar dummies like me keep track of where we are.
And the uniform change is about what I expected. Makes perfect sense.
Both are technically right. This one story take place at least one month after her transformation, so it’s to be expected that Red has gone through her first period already. As for the current timeline where we are in the main story, we are close to a full year since Red became a girl, so she is indeed close to 9 at this point.
You may be into something with the idea of identifying better the flashbacks stories, specially because we will have actual flashbacks in the main comic eventually. I did came with this filler on the moment so I didn’t think of it, but I think that from now one, future pages that fill this role will have a note of the like, probably in the same corners where the “Melvin Chronicles” tittle is usually signed. I will probably start marking this filler pages with the tittle of the filler storyline they represent. None the less, all the pages are taged with the storyline they belong, being main story, one shots, and it this case, filler arcs. And in that note, is a good moment to mention once again that the next page, coming Tuesday, is indeed part of the current main storyline “I Dream of a Deal”. I will warn you all, it may not be so obvious at fist once you read it!
Killer combination of brains and looks. The hard part is going to be getting the psychological defences in place to deal with other girls. Male manipulation comes later.
And Southeil Academy would have these stupid school uniforms, too.
I hope it is not getting towards the cold time of the year, as those uniforms with be really drafty.
They’re in southern California. Cold doesn’t happen there. Seriously, it’s considered an anomaly to have frost at all even at night in January.
