And Kazom thought Melvin couldn’t possibly get into trouble while he’s away in Dreamland…
And Kazom thought Melvin couldn’t possibly get into trouble while he’s away in Dreamland…
Well….Red is definitely hosed now.
BJ does make a good point Melvin, you should just cut your losses and forget about turning her back.
You might have made a promise, but turning her into Goo would pretty much ruin any chance she has of returning to her normal life.
I agree with BJ too, cut your losses and give up on that idea. At least Red or Tiffany is still human even if she is a girl. There no telling what Melvin might turn Red into if he keep doing his experiments with one of those experiment being on Red. There no telling what Melvin might turn Red into or what the results will be. But, even if Melvin does a test run and it look OK to him, Red was turned into a girl with Genie magic and there could be a minor problem if he try to use some other magic than Genie magic when it comes to undoing this problem.
This is one of the few times that he the smart one and Melvin the fool.
Tiff has an ACTUAL father?! I didn’t know that!!
Henry Thornton (Cast, Parents section), first seen in Jeanie #188.
And it sounds like Dad doesn’t know he has a daughter now
JJ is writing a fanfiction for/about her brother’s friends (and lost in her own little world about it, nice touch). We’ve seen Tiffany’s dad, and he knows full well what happened to his ex-son.
Henry Thornton is listed in the Parents section of the Cast, and C D Rudd drew him in Jeanie #188.
I get the impression that Henry Thornton may be Tiffany’s stepfather and the his/her “actual” father is someone else. At least that is how I read this. As always, I could be wrong.
I already made a couple references to Henry here andthere, though JJ’s notes are more than just a fanfict.
Yes, JJ is kind of an odd bird. She both keeping kind of a diary of what going on and she probably throwing in a few fantasy of what she wishes would happen and she a little nosy to fine out what going on too. So there no telling what she writing in her diary.
Wow. That looks . . . significantly less impressive than the last time we saw it.
It’s still very close if I say so myself.
Now, why there is two designs of the book, that I can’t tell yet.
Granted, there is no way to tell if this was the original plan, but I am working whit what I have! Let’s hope this works!
One possibility is that we are looking at two different books. One of the books could be the one that Melvin dad was caring and the other could be at BJ mothers book store, because it look like it on display for everyone to see it. In a book store you would put your books on display so that you can sell them or some along that line.
The Gorholtz Grimoire is the same is the same as Thomas Clark’s book? I thought that was what Kazom was looking for at Haji’s palace.
Pretty sure that they are two different tomes, IIRC Thomas sacrificed himself to send the Gorholtz Grimoire to an exile dimension.
As for the new look, let’s go with it’s disguising itself so Melvin can carry it around without arousing suspicion.
Kazom said that the ceremony was interrupted before it could be completed, so the Gorholtz Grimoire is still around, somewhere, probably. But if Kazom already has the Gorholtz, why would he be trying to get into the library at Haji’s palace?
Oh, Kazom wasn’t looking for anything on Haji’s library, he wanted to met with the other Genie Lords to discuss what to do about mean old Blue.
Then, on his way out, and before meeting with Lahab, he found Jehane (who he believed to be Jean) on her way to the Library and try to follow her without much success. Now, wathever Jehane wanted in the library is anyone guess, but I assure you, the Gorhlotz was never there.
I thought Kazom implied that Thomas sacrificed himself to banish it because the ritual to safely banish it was interrupted.
Just curious, any guesses as to JJ’s first name. In keeping with the old fashioned names theme I’m guessing June.
Since June is derived from Juno, that’s an awesomely old-fashioned name. Jupiter’s wife, not a movie about an udwed mother.
Jean/Jane/Joan/JoannaJohanna/Juana/Giana/Ivanka doesn’t have quite that pedigree.
Jennifer/Guinevere’s been around for awhile.
Is Jennifer, I think I already mention this in a previous comment, but is fine, I get that’s no the best place to share this kind information to the readers.
Don’t worry, once this chapter is over I think I should have introduced all the revelant characters we should know of for a while, and then we should update the cast page with all the pertinent info about them, and maybe some new portraits.
I suppose if the frog experiment had gone well, the frog would be walking around their school right now.
Or hopping.
Or getting dissected in Science. Or eaten by the Triplets of Belleville.
yuri–Is J.J. studying Japanese or is she spending to much time reading Manga comics?
Yes.
I would say she is doing both–she probably got into anime/manga and then decided that learning some actual Japanese would help.
Considering all the anime tropes she mentioned on the previous page, I think it’s pretty clear that she’s a total anime/manga nerd.
JJ probably wishes that she were Haruhi Suzumiya.
J.J. probably hasn’t heard the fan theory that Kyon is the real reality warper then.
Let’s hope she hasn’t discovered guro!
“Give BJ a little brother for a day”–does that mean Melvin turned himself into a kid, or turned JJ into a boy, or what?
The second, I suspect.
When B.J. is the reasonable one all hope has been lost.
Isn’t the OBVIOUS way, to get in contact with Jean again? FFS why is none of them trying to do that. You have a choice between jumping over 7 foot hurdles, or driving a car down the track and demolishing the hurdles. Easy choice. Get Jean to nullify the original magic and then Clarence can be whatever he wants. You could even then, with the initial curse gone, give him shapeshifting powers via a curse that makes him change to whatever he concentrates on, so he could be in his female form whenever he feels like it with no pressure, and would be free to have a lezzo relationship with the indian chick AND resume his life as a male AND his career as a female model without abandoning what he really wants to do with his life, and be everything to everyone. How’s that for a happy ending. That would actually be the IDEAL for a lesbian, to have a lover like that, because they could eventually have a child together too.
There is an easy answer as to why they don’t contact Jeanie, and it has been allude a couple of times. In short, none of them actually can contact with Jeanie, they don’t even know where she is, and even if it was that easy for a witch to track a genie down (“Witch magic and Genie magic do not mix”), Melvin is just getting use to this, so as pretty much everything in regards Red, is out of his league. Kazom is the one who is closer to be able to find Jean, but even if he cared (which he really doesn’t, he just want Melvin to stop trying to mess with genie Magic), not even he can find Jean with ease. Just as Melvin and co, he has no idea where Jeanie lives, he can’t poof himself to Cocoa beach to find her, and his relation with other genies, specially Guano, the one in charge of Jean, is pretty poor. So asking is not really an option either. He could have asked Lahab back in the “I dream of a escape” Story back at JB, but again, Kazom doesn’t really cares for Red, and he forgot, and coming back to Haji’s palace is kind of a problem for him, between his status among the genies, and the Blue Djinn out there causing problems.
You are right, Jeanie is the one character that could fix this whole mess without even trying, but the problem is that she is MIA as far Melvin and co knows, so Melvin and Red are working with what they have.
