Reginald Smythe, or #1 is the latest patriarch in the long line of The Imposition. The Imposition has sworn to protect human kind from witchcraft. It is said that the Smythe family was given this task by a pope of Rome. Some say it was an ancient king that bestowed the charge. Whatever the real story is, the Smythe family takes it's job very seriously.
Kaelyn is the youngest member of The Imposition. As the daughter of the ill-fated Racheal, she is close to her grandfather and trainer, #1. She may find that the lines get a little blurry in the field, and somethings training can't prepare you for.
Or was it both of them. Being in the book store, could be a dead zone where you can’t pick up anything. But, both Red and Ida were out side of the neutral or dead zone of the book store.
I am thinking that nobody can use there power in the book store or pick anything from other people in that book store.
One of the two is a boy magically transformed into a girl, with genie magic (“different signature than the other readings”).
Presumably she’s not radiating magic as strongly or consistently as an active magical being, but I’d readily believe Red qualifies as a “spike” if you actually bump into that made-by-magic body.
It could also be AMMO – American Military Magicians Organization. AMMO and DHW tend to lock horns over potential recruits. Since this is more magical rather than mystical FLUF (Foundation for Love and Universal Faith) is not likely to be involved.
This is a spin off of Jeanie Bottle and those two people are in one of the arc that had Darrin/Derrick and Samantha of another TV show that dealt with witches.
Here the start of arc of that parallel sight where they first appear:
The black van was seen before with “Guys with Glass” inside, in comic 28, driving past Melvin’s house. Just when Melvin starts understanding his witch heritage.
We see the scared face man flash a ‘badge’ to ‘The Van Man’ in comic 37. Just before the Rising Sun closes.
We also see the black van and the scared face man in comic 38 unloading gear, one would think too the Rising Sun. Which has been closed since the scared face man showed up, ref comic 78.
And let us not forget this all important Guano Slippers, in comic 14 and in comic 108
(Which doesn’t really have to do with anything beyond making me laugh).
(Just so you all know, I have no idea what’s going to happen either.)
Looking at this it doesn’t look as if this guy knows about Ida. As she wasn’t in any of those panels. Though she HAD been introduced in story so I may be jumping to a false conclusion.
So clearly the “neutral zone” of the book store is somehow enforced and no magic registers or probably can be performed there. Probably a good idea if they have enchanted books and other magical artifacts that might not mix well if they were active at the same time.
Now, why was the type of reading “different” from any the MIB woman had seen before? Do the MIBs not know about djinn and Red’s genie enchantment reads funny, or is Ida some sort of being other than witch or djinn? Do the MIBs know about djinn? Not sure at this point.
So the question is: which one (Red or Ida) is the source?

Yeah, that was my thought as well.
She could be sensing the witch-spell on Red’s bust (the one that reduced it).
An I alone in hoping that spell is temporary?
Nope, hopefully Red’s bust will return soon.
“Red haired girl and a friend”–I think he recalls them from the House of the Rising Fun incident the other day.

Well, I was right, she is working with the men in Black. Now, are they a governmental agency or something else?
Probably the DHW – Department of Homeland Witchcraft.
I wonder if Darrin/Derrick and Samantha will show up, on vacation to California?

Naw, still can’t see the connection, except for Red putting in an appearance.
Well, while skimming the archives for clues…

It’s likely that Scar Face thinks it’s Red and BJ, and suspects that BJ is the Heir.
[drools over commission I have in progress]
Big floppy hats, folks, big floppy hats.
You guys are gonna love it.
[skips off]

Revelation 13:3 “One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed.”
Just a-sayin’
Nonsense. That scar is unmistakeable – it’s obviously Harry Potter in his later years.
