BJ, or Boyd Johnson, thinks himself the ladies man. He couldn't be more wrong, but that doesn't stop him from trying to woo the fairer sex when he can.
Kazom is a 3,000 year old genie. In order to conserve power and thereby extend his life, Kazom does as little magic as possible. He is bound in the form of the Clark family's cat and mostly just lays around Melvin's Room.
I think that SageM had the right idea. It Kazom that firing the Dream Demons, It the Green Dream Demon that asking Kazom a question and it Kazom saying that it was a bad idea that he hired them in the first place, so now he firing them from there job.
Yes, Kazom is holding Kazom in the last panel, but Larry is right, Green is making a question to Kazom and he (the human shaped Kazom)proceeded to answer back… and also come to the conclusion that her services are no longer necessary.
Firing them might prove difficult. They absorbed some of Melvin’s emotions, which may have permanent effects, making them more like humans. Plus they seem to be attached to him now, whether or not two of them aren’t admitting it.
Besides, they’re interesting new characters, and I for one wouldn’t like them to disappear forever from the story.
And, of course, if they stay, the comic will become a harem story. Not up to Tenchi Muyo or Negima levels so far, although arguably he could have a harem of five now: The three stooges–uh, succubi–plus Holly and maybe Red.
And since you, Carlos, made that wonderful harem filler awhile back, I think you might be up for something like that.
So, he got the Stooges corrupted by Melvin’s magic, and now he’s trying to cut them loose because said magic makes it nigh impossible for them to do what he wants them to do?
Melvin tells in the first panel if you read it. It because, Melvin reading and using his Dad Magic book for Witches and it what activating Melvin Shadow to moving around on it own and doing all those things your seeing it doing.
The answer to your second question don’t know, unless it part of that same process, other than that, I don’t have an answer for you.
I would recommend to look more careful to the shadows, your first question answers your second one after all, and maybe take another look to the tags for some help. And no, Green has nothing to do with the events on panel’s 1 through 4, they are just happening at the same time, more or less, but they go quite nicely with her explanation.
Ooooooh, I don’t think it’s gonna be that simple. I mean, if they’ve already absorbed some of his power, they’ve probably got boosts to their own. And I really doubt they’re going to want to leave a good source of food, so he’ll have to make them go, which, given that he’s trying to use as little power as possible to extend his life, is probably going to be more costly than he’d like.
Ehhhhhhhhh, what makes you think they are able to separate safely at this point? Seems like Melvin’s magic might actually have bound them to him and will instead make them his familiars now.
@Bthillman Sadly, we haven’t know anything from Bach-mann from more than a year now, ever since CD posted the announcement looking for someone to take over the comic, even before that actually. I never got a chance to speak with him personally, but we all hope he is good and doing better since the last time we heard of him.
Honestly I gave up trying to figure out the difference between a witch and a warlock with Scooby Doo and the Witch’s Ghost. It was so simple in that movie but of course that couldn’t be the case in other media!
Well, for a little behind the scenes on my notes for the Chronicles, witches are just witches here, and even reading through the comments on that page, it seems there was indeed some plans for that distinction in the future. With that said, warlocks don’t seem to be strangers to the lore. At first, I though Warlocks may be the way to refer to witches that practice black magic, but then I thought that not even Endora would rather had Sam dating a Warlock over Derick if that was the case… I think.
Granted, I have no idea of what the original plan was, and CD couldn’t help me either, so it is up to me to come up with something, and I could have made a small retcon, I admit, but in the end I did come up with something in regards our friends the Warlock, and you will find out a lot sooner than later, I promise. I bring the term back for a reason!
In the Bewitched series, Witches are females and Warlocks are males, but, they are of the same group or species of magic group or Witches and Warlocks. It basically identifies the gender male or female and that it.
In Melvin Chronicles a Witch can be male or female and it isn’t gender pacific like in the Bewitched series. That why Melvin identified as a Witch and not as a Warlock.
In Melvin Chronicles there is talk of there being Warlock, but, they haven’t revealed as to what they are or who they are yet and we are still waiting on that information. But, just guessing, a Warlock will be some kind of Witch type of person, but, completely separated from the Witch group that Melvin associated with.
I’m glad Kazom is admitting his dumbness here. However, I don’t think the ladies here can be let go that easily now. The Pink slip isn’t going to let this one slide by.
So if they are fired from their jobs, where are they going to live now?
Their “Dream” Demons, which means without a dream to live in they can’t exist anymore.
Hopefully they can find some other mortals dream world to live in…..
I can’t tell who is firing whom. The speech balloon pointer is somewhat ambiguous.
But I think Kazom is getting the axe. How, exactly, do you fire a retired cat?
Uh, oh oh. Hope I didn’t just answer my own question.
I think that SageM had the right idea. It Kazom that firing the Dream Demons, It the Green Dream Demon that asking Kazom a question and it Kazom saying that it was a bad idea that he hired them in the first place, so now he firing them from there job.
Both of the characters in the final panel are Kazom. He’s not firing himself.
Yes, Kazom is holding Kazom in the last panel, but Larry is right, Green is making a question to Kazom and he (the human shaped Kazom)proceeded to answer back… and also come to the conclusion that her services are no longer necessary.

This isn’t going to end badly at all . . .
Why does it look like Melvin’s shadow is trying to open a locker?
Whose shadow hand is in panels 1-3?
Am I correct in assuming the blue aura on Green in panel 5 is the taint and not a glow from her hand being repulsed in panel 3?
The answer to your first question is:
Melvin tells in the first panel if you read it. It because, Melvin reading and using his Dad Magic book for Witches and it what activating Melvin Shadow to moving around on it own and doing all those things your seeing it doing.
The answer to your second question don’t know, unless it part of that same process, other than that, I don’t have an answer for you.

Ask about severance pay.

So Warlocks are different from Witches here?
I believe that’s true. I vaguely recall that being established some time during BACH-MANN’s run of the comic.
Off subject, but has anyone heard from Bach-mann lately? He was going through a bad patch, a while ago.

I’m just wondering what those close to Melvin would think about them if they see them, like say red?
I mean, I wonder what Melvin would think about them should he ever realize they are more than just a dream!
