Red was a boy until a new genie tried to get Melvin a girlfriend. That's when the genie turned Red into a girl so Melvin could practice talking to girls, and forgot to turn her back before disappearing. Red is hopeful that her situation is only temporary.
Yes, your right, some guys are that desperate, but, they will learn there lesson after they mess with Deborah. She really is a work crap. Once you mess with her, you will never forget it. Like never!!
Up until now Deborah Fayet has seemed to me to be a younger edition of Morgan Fayet from Sailorsun.org, with the same competition with Red Thornton as Morgan has with Bay Smith. They’re even all models. But the introduction of boys has introduced a difference: Morgan was sure she could seduce any guy she wanted to (at least until she tried to seduce Bay’s boyfriend) while Deborah seems to have no experience and no confidence. Well, seems.
I don’t know where Carlos is going with this, but I think it would be interesting if this actually threw Deborah and Red together. Think “Frenemies” as in Tiffany and Luann, or Kim Possible and Bonnie Rockwaller. I could see Red supporting Deborah against a beastly boy, or sympathizing with whatever family issues Deborah has–assuming Carlos ever gives Deborah a family.
It would not surprise me if Deborah Fayet also had a maid as her primary care giver like Red has Helga as her primary care giver instead of having her Mother Mary as her primary support and after seeing how Mary has been treating Red, she probably better off having Helga as her primary care giver too.
Hmm. Does remind me of Bonnie Rockwaller’s pair of awful older sisters in Kim Possible. So, does Deborah try to be on top everywhere else because she’s second-best at home? Wait, is Deborah Fayet’s sister named Morgan?!!
As far as we know, it only Tiffany that was ever a boy. Those names could have been shortened. I once knew a girl we all called Henry, it shortened from Henrietta. Charlie could be shorten from Charlot and some of those names are determined solely on the spelling of the name too. Several of those name are gender neutral and it the spelling of the name that determines it gender. The male spelling of Jean is Gene.
I do agree with you that there are a lot of boyish sounding names here.
I don’t know why but in the last panel that jail scene from the original Ghostbusters where Bill Murry is carrying on about cats and dogs living together ran through my mind.
Also my guess for Lenny’s real name is Lenore and Veronica for Ronnie. Though I’ll be honest and admit that the latter I’ve only read in Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter novels otherwise I’d have no clue what Ronnie would be short for in a girl’s name.
Deborah must be a nutcase if she thinks, any boy would go out on a date with her.
I don’t know, it may just be what she needs.
Honestly, we’ve only seen how she acts around Red. She might be tolerable when she’s not being a total bitch out of jealousy.
You underestimate how desperate some boys are.

@Tom Sewell “assuming Carlos ever gives Deborah a family”
Oh, I already mentioned Deborah’s sister. She actually really looks up to her, even if I have barely allude to her.

Co-ed? So much easier to get at your opposites. Well, easier for most of them.
Lenny, Charlie, Ronnie, Frankie, and Jean are all rather boyish nicknames for girls – are all the students at this school transformees?
Now THAT would be an interesting twist.

Interesting Idea, but, no.
