47: The Missing Guests
Whoa. Looks like Green’s gambit of transforming into Lahab may have worked a little too well.
This is an important, but abbreviated announcement:
Due to various reasons, including Carlos’s continuing internet connection difficulties, and the need to build up a buffer, The Melvin Chronicles will be going on a short hiatus. I’ll let him explain the details in a future post, coming as soon as he can maintain a stable connection for a few minutes.
EDIT: Carlos here, the post with details about the hiatus is posted now. Please give it a read.
That . . . that’s an Ace Ventura reference, isn’t it? Carlos, you magnificent bastard. Also, is Yellow supposed to be Melvin’s mom in this scene? If so, then this is just going to end even worse for the Stooge-cubbi when he snaps out of it.
Yes to the first question, and yes to the second. Good eye.
“Good eye.” A phrase that my sisters and I never hear.
First time for everything, I guess.
Not one for ocular clarity, I suppose?
Oh, not one bit, any of us. My oldest sister is legally blind, and we three triplets do not drive at night or during foggy/rainy/snowy weather. I personally had to invest in an eReader because it lets me zoom in on text (and I already wear glasses).
Weirdly enough, Dad never had vision problems and he says neither did Mom. Not sure how that worked out.
Jim Carry what?
Ace Ventura. He’s talking about LSH, apparently not knowing the meaning of his unfortunate name.
… what LSH?
@HKMaly – short for “Lord Shit Head”, a.k.a. Lord Guano.
Jim Carrey, presumably, but I’m not sure how that applies to Lord Guano not knowing what his name means. ^_^
Oh dang, I had no idea that Jim Carrey’s name was spelled with an ‘e’! I’ll fix it.
I suspect Green’s gambit worked exactly how she wanted. She’s not aware this is not good time to delay him.
Yep, yellow looks an awful lot like Susan.
Yes, the one look like Melvin Mother Susan and the other one look like Haji first concubine or wife Habab. Lord Kazom Has a really active imagination. First messing with Melvin Mother one of his best friends wife’s and messing with Haji first concubine.
I am assuming there is a reason that “Yellow/Susan” has one blue human eye and one yellow cat eye.
Oh wow, I hadn’t even noticed that!
In number 45 Victor tells Lady veronica ” Your master took far more from them then he lost, including the mother of the child.” Does that mean that Susan is a latent witch or genie. That would explain why Melvin is so much more powerful.
I am glad to hear that the hiatus will be short. Too many of my favorite webcomic-ka are being hit by unpleasant levels of reality; I was starting to think they’d be safer if I didn’t read them regularly. ^_^
I have an idea, that I think would be very cute and touching if you implemented. So Kozom isn’t willing to try to change Red back into a male…. but what if BJ and Melvin had him set up a “curse”, that whenever all 3 of them are together with no one else present, BJ and Melvin would turn into girls, and would change back whenever one of the 3 left or if any 4th person arrived? A sort of show of solidarity for Red’s predicament. The 3 of them could have all-girl parties together for fun, and it would eliminate the gender divide between them, because they’d only be different in front of other people, but when together, they could have scantily clad pillow fights or whatever, and it wouldn’t impact their lives since it would only be a private secret between the 3 of them. But this could also be an interesting plot device, because it could eventually get them in trouble, if the 3 of them were together and no one was present but someone saw the other 2 change because they were being watched through a security camera or something.
