Kazom is a 3,000 year old genie. In order to conserve power and thereby extend his life, Kazom does as little magic as possible. He is bound in the form of the Clark family's cat and mostly just lays around Melvin's Room.
Red was a boy until a new genie tried to get Melvin a girlfriend. That's when the genie turned Red into a girl so Melvin could practice talking to girls, and forgot to turn her back before disappearing. Red is hopeful that her situation is only temporary.
That is no indicator of whether he is a good/bad person, we have seen more than a few bad genies. But, as Kazom is a genie he likely is biased against Dick. We will find out more about him soon.
Tiffany doesn’t have Jeanie’s magic, she was transformed by it. I think the same can be said for Melvin’s attempt to change her back. If these events triggered something latent to Thornton women, then that’s a different story.
Honestly, this Melfovody girl, first she gets everyone captured instead of standing back and attempting a rescue if needed, then she botched the chair escape and crushed poor Tiffany and now she’s interrupting Kazom when he’s trying to warn them about the Judean People’s Front. What’s she going to do for an encore? Turn Red’s hair blue?
Regardless, is anyone else worried that Tiffany is the “enemy” one of the voices guiding Holly was talking about? There’s nothing to suggest the voice is nice after all.

looks like The Blue Djinn’s not the only one who has that kind of Power. yet, I sense there’s more to the story.
Why is there a red ball on Kazom’s head?
It’s a bump, courtesy of Tiffany.
After Page 156, it was implied that Red was… murderously angry with Kazom. He’s lucky he got away with just a cartoon cliche bump on the head.
Now that I think about it, Red has Jeanie’s magic. Plus Melvin’s and her own latent one. How powerful could she become after awakening her heritage?

Richard/Dick mistook Red for a descendant of the Blue Djinn. Meaning he could sense his magic on her.
Should be Walsh women, since it’s from the maternal side.
So, technically speaking, a Sorcerer.
