# 39 Turn-A-Ment : Stranger-Danger Dogs!
Hey kids, mmmm….I love the smell of dirty hot dog water in the morning…well…I did.
If you don’t condone the behavior of this vendor, then go vote for The Melvin Chronicles now!
Remember, if your not with us, you’re against children.
Sincerely,
BACH-MANN & Shhadow
Yeah, the hot-dog guy crossed the line when he touched Red in the second panel, and a slug in the face is about what he deserved for it.
Now what’s this about fake sexy pics of Holly? Just who made them? Liam perhaps?
My guess is that Liam photo-shopped some embarrassing picture of Holly to get even for his own humiliation on social media. I’m sure Holly has the knowledge and experience to handle such sophomoric silliness.
The envelope said, “to the victor go the spoils”. My guess is it has to do with Liam’s winning strategy. He says at some point, around the time he’s inviting Holly to his pre-victory, something like, “not all battles are won on the field”. He probably intended to give it to Melvin. It must’ve fallen out of his pocket.
Holly didn’t actually show to that party, so I think you’re right about the photoshop.
Let’s not forget the Jeanie-factor: Jean is still sneezing away causing worldwide mischief, including a boy-puppie-girl-boy and girl-boy-girl over here in the spinoff. And we already have signs that Agent Scarface is investigating Jeanie-type strangeness.
Ooooo! Good point, I had forgotten about the sneezie-fits. Hmmmm…
I love “Bleephat” as an insult.
I see she did go for the footlongs. But I wasn’t really talking about hot dogs…
It doesn’t sound to me like she was going for anything. Her response was “I didn’t” (ask for that), “I don’t” (want it).
The vendor is “giving her something for free”, “doing her a favor”. That’s probably why he felt it would be okay to touch her. Afterall he’d just made an exchange, in his opinion. Nothing is free. See his hands up in the air in the third full panel. In his mind, she’s probably an ungrateful lesbian.
I’ve had these types of encounters with men who veil their desire for control in acts of kindness. They occur in more subtle and more overt ways.
I love that Red’s natural response is to hit him. I wonder if that has to do with her having been a boy so recently. Many women have gotten so used to this type of behavior, as they’ve dealt with it for so many years, they don’t strike. I myself have had experiences where I’ve just stood there and couldn’t act.
What this vendor did was violating and ,unfortunately, Red will have many more of these experiences.
I’m confused what happened? Is this one of those weird social situations evrybody but me understands?
Yep even today its something girls have to deal with, I’m just not sure if it was him thinking he was being kind to a cute young girl or not. I’ve noticed a lot of elder men (not old just elder) have very set ideas of proper behaviour and don’t think a girl might be annoyed or find it creepy/intimidating.
Once he started touching her (panel 2), he definitely had gone past “being nice” and was stepping into “you should be grateful to me”.
