Hey kids, I guess you can’t go on a 3,000 year journey and not carry a little baggage. 🙂
Thanks for reading, please remember to tip your waitress, and as always vote!
Sincerely,
BACH-MANN & Shhadow.

Is that Kazom before he became a cat?
That guy *is* Kazom. You can tell by the eyes.
And by the way, Lamp-Lover’s friend Staff-Jockey looks an awful lot like Melvin…
I suspect that’s Melvin’s dad.
And is that the Blue Wizard’s Dad?
And what a mess we will end up with, with this being what supporting Melvin in his attempt to teleport Holly back to here bed in her own room. I see something bad coming out of this mess.
I am wondering if Kazom is the genie there and the cat was the Blue Wizard’s familiar and that he was bound to the cat. Not sure about the Blue Wizard, but that seems to be his Tome next to the cat.
Flashbacks hit you when you least expect it.
I’m sure the author won’t show a fatal teleport accident.
Slightly above the bed would keep bed springs out of her intestines.
The real trick would be to keep Holly’s spirit from possessing the bed, ala My Mother the Car.
Note the “M” shaped forelock on the guy with the green top and gold armbands.
When I first saw this, I thought the two were fighting.
I was wrong. They are cooperating with each other, and, I think, the three witches in the sky, to work some spell on the pillar between the two of them. The “insults” are friendly banter.
This is the event what deprived Melvin of his Dad, and used up so much of Kazom’s power he retired as a genie, except to keep watch over Melvin and Susan.
Kazom is reliving the single worst moment of his existence, a hideous overreach of combined wizardly and genie power, and doing so as Melvin attempts his own moment of magical hubris.
And he is doing so in response to Melvin’s command to “concentrate”. I don’t know what the effects of this will be, but Melvin is about to discover why, exactly, you listen to people who know more about a thing than you do.
That scenario sounds remarkably plausible. Even if Melvin doesn’t flub the teleport too bad, Kazom has now been reminded that Melvin is far too much like his father and needs extra care to be kept from making the kind of mistake that did in the original Blue Wizard.
Except I’m not sure the 3 sky wizards are helping, they may be in opposition. It’s not really clear. But, otherwise I agree, this is Kazom and Melvin’s father working some combined magic to some purpose we don’t know yet. Kazom inhabits the cat, by choice or by force, again it’s not clear but if we go from Jeanie Bottle canon then Kazom *chooses* to remain a cat. He may be hiding from whomever or whatever they angered/released with their magic, and trying to protect Melvin at the same time.
My guess–and I grant a guess is all it is, until BACH-MANN confirms one way or another–is that the sky-witches are providing the protective shield around the two main spellsters, so that whatever they do doesn’t affect the surrounding countryside.
Oh. Oh my.
Cat at the bottom of the middle frame.
That’s not Kazom.
That’s just the alley cat that Kazom was forced into when the spell went bad. (Or that he possessed when he no longer had the magical power to animate a powerful human form.)
Good thing Melvin only he needs “to get her to her bed”, not get her into her bed.
I don’t think having a bed as a girl friend would work well. Would not want to sleep in an angry bed.
This would also be the time that Kazom stop being the head Genie and became a cat Genie and it would also be the time Guano or bat poop as some people call him took his place too.
Seems like our blue wizard has a lot of raw power but doesn’t really know how to control it yet. So he might wind up ‘porting sleeping beauty somewhere else besides her own bedroom–or maybe her own world. Wonderful excuse for a new adventure, maybe…
Seems like those 3 in the background will be important later on.
