Kazom is a 3,000 year old genie. In order to conserve power and thereby extend his life, Kazom does as little magic as possible. He is bound in the form of the Clark family's cat and mostly just lays around Melvin's Room.
Head Familiar of the House of Azure, and Guardian of Master Ak’Kor. She also serves as the Watcher of the Coven, keeping track of all sorts of secrets. She and Kazom have a long history that she won't let him forget, no matter how hard he tries.
I noticed that one too, I was just about to comment on it when I noticed you had already picked up on it. Good catch, so many people fail to catch the difference between of and off.
Oh trust me, I do a heck of a lot of editing on these comics. So much, in fact, that the really simple errors sometimes sneak through because I’m distracted by much larger problems, heh. Carlos is still learning the finer points of English.
I have a great deal of respect for those that work on learning a second, third or even more languages. I used to teach for awhile before I had to stop due to my extremely poor eyesight. I tried to learn several different languages, but sadly my talents are more math related than language based. Still, I remember the troublesome sound alike words in English gives even native speakers, what with of/off, to/too/two, and other words.
There are two major reasons why English is significantly harder to learn than many other languages in the Indo-European family.
1) English not a ‘pure’ language. It’s Celtic & Bretonic overlaid with Latin, successively overlaid with Germanic, Norse, French and bits of Welsh, Dutch, Spanish and several other languages. So the multiple linguistic backgrounds make for a confusing mishmash of heritage.
2) Unlike most other languages, when English adopts a foreign word, it also adopts the foreign spelling and pronunciation, as well. Most languages rework a new word to adapt it to their spelling and pronunciation rules, so it “fits” with the rest of the language. English just takes it, as is, and the new word winds up being yet another exception to all the standard English rules, with the consequence that English students have to wind up learning huge numbers of mysterious “exceptions”.
And yet, with all of that, English is the most widely used language in the world, and the second most numerous in sheer number of speakers! So it’s probably worth the difficulty.

The way that BJ act around Clamor, I think it might already be too late. Now that we are looking back to when they first met, there plenty of ways that this could develop with even a possibility of us seeing some time in the future of a female half cat human girl that look like BJ with long hair, cat ears, with cat tail on her with with Double D breast on her. A real smoker too, when it comes to being a female cat girl!
I don’t see that Kazom ever had the hots for Nellah, but, what I do see happening in the past was Kazom trying to find something out about what was going on in Witch realm that he may done something with Nellah and now she want much more of Kazom. Now Kazom is regretting his past deeds of trying to seduce Nellah to find out what was going on. Kazom want to break stuff off and Nellah will have none of that business of Kazom going his own way without her being there. That what I think is going on here.
I don’t know. I’ve met a couple of women, whom I originally found attractive, but after seeing how they treat the men in their lives, I very much didn’t want to be next. If one of them were to actively pursue me, I’d probably act like Kazom.
I have run into that kind of women too. There the kind of women you hide from or go to another church to get away from them, even into another city even. I have even had one of those woman even hunting me down too. That was bad, that why I mentioned it.
@He Who Abides So, there is no much I can’t say without spoiling myself, but, I want to comment how impresed I am as to how, since Nellah re introduction, you have find a different análogy in each page to describe the posibility of an intimate relationship between her and Kazom! It has been highly amuzing for me!
Thanks for the interest, but at the moment I am not looking for direct donations or the like. Still, if you are really interested in suporting the comic or my work in general, I am looking to start working on comissions short after I come back from my trip in January, so please look forward for that.
Kazom’s vehement insistence to BJ that he can’t have a relationship with a cat familiar like you can with a human woman is starting to sound like a projection of his own biases and issues.
there are so many jokes i wanna make involving the name of the head council leader, but i don’t know where to start.
Do any of them involve a god from Classical mythology? Or are you more of the low hanging fruit kind of guy!
I think Kazi beat you to the most common one.
Does Robert do the editing on this comic? If so, I’m pretty sure panel one needs to read “feeding off each other”.

It’s one of those typos that most automated spell checks tend to miss. Word will pick it up in their grammar check sometimes…but not all the time.

The typo has been fixed.

After reading this page, there’s no way to convince me that Kazom and Nellah never did the dance with no pants.
On another note, Nellah’s pretty powerful, isn’t she? Like, scary powerful. BJ should watch his behavior, should he and Clamor become a thing.

@Carlos – I aim to please.
Sure, in your dreams, but back in the real world, don’t forget protection!

Treating a lady to dinner isn’t too bad. Kazom may find out he enjoys her company.
I suspect that Kazom has already discovered what her company is like… and that she’s more trouble than it’s worth.
I would also add, that she probably want more from Kazom than Kazom is prepared to give her too.
