Well, we have a mystery cast for this comic. I do recognize some names:
* Fortuna and Minerva are Roman goddesses.
* Uranus and Hypnos are Greek gods.
* Ymir is the primordial ice giant of Norse mythology
I don’t remember any mythology for Blair, Veronica, Nadia, or Victor.
I’m guessing the guy with the white beard in Panel Four is Ymir. The creepy looking blue guy in Panel Two, maybe Uranus, who’s noted for swallowing his children. Or maybe Uranus is supposed to be the truly weird one sitting next to Ymir in Panel Four; the round green head could maybe be the planet Uranus. Why the witch/wizard hat? Well, When Uranus and it’s larger moons were discovered a few centuries ago, the astronomer named the moons after characters in Shakespeare’s The Tempest, whose main character is the old wizard Prospero. And the androgynous figure maybe suggests Sailor Uranus, the androgynous character mangaka Naoko Takeuchi described as both male and female.
A nitpick: It was Chronus, the Titan son of Uranus, who swallowed his children so that they would not overthrow him the way that he overthrew his father Uranus.
@ijuinkun True, Though Uranus wasn’t much better… his method was to send his children back from where they came, still alive and growing inside. Much to his poor wife Gaia disgust, so no wonder she then conspired with Chronos (back inside of her) to over throne and castrate Uranus later.
BTW, if you go back some pages in this same chapter, you may find who Uranus is suppose to be on this page
And now, Carlos, I get it: Nellah told Kazom that Uranus was hosting the dream, so Uranus is the white cat. I wonder if he’s also Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s cat.
This is obviously what Kazom was afraid of the council the that might meet to discus what they should do with Melvin Clark the son or Thomas Clark the former High Priest of the Witch world and new apparent leader to be of the Witch world Melvin Clark. We know there dreaming because, there eye are closed and they refer to sleeping or dreaming up above. Evidently they were looking to those three girls that Kazom solicited to help him to try and keep Melvin under wraps and they probably wanted Kazom to show up too. The jig is up for Kazom to keep Melvin secret and out of harms way.
Apparently. I wonder why houses Azure and Sable are absent, given that they seemed to be most interested in Melvin, so they would be unlikely to simply be absent due to not caring. Perhaps something more nefarious is delaying the attendees?
One more thing, I was just looking through the Genie Bottle site and that girl in that last frame of last week is Laban who Kazom knows as Haji first wife. Nobody spoke about her, because, nobody recognized her in that form. There is only one frame in Jeanie Bottle where she appears in that form.
Maybe Green’s Labab gambit worked and–um–distracted Kazom enough to make him miss the summons. Green does seem like she might know about the Council meeting.
Well, the Azure is tied up dealing with the Imposition; the Sable lost their ride when Ford closed down the Mercury division; the Blackwood are lost in the forest; the Griffin have a previous engagement in Moperville; the Xoxotl have a Scrabble tournament; and the Warlock King and his wife have a teething baby and, therefore, never enough sleep to dream.
@Ben: It is indeed. Grace Sciuridae did a cameo way back in #102 of Jeanie Bottle when Jeanie summoned Grace to prove to Clarence and Boyd she was a real genie even if she wasn’t a cat.
Hmm, missed the discussion of the names the first time I read this last year. That’s what I get for forgetting to check the comments again after refreshing the page to get the link to the next page.
Look’s like we’ve found the “Ronnie” that doesn’t show up in the current comics (20200516) to welcome Debbie and Red to the student council. I guess there are some temporal shenanigans going on in the land of Hypnos.

I’m much too tired to make any more guesses now.

My bad on confusing Chronos with Uranus.

Blair Witch Project perhaps?

They lack a quorum?

Seems so. However, that doesn’t exactly explain why almost everyone else is ALSO missing.

Is that an El Goonish Shive reference?

Griffins still have 14 days before the engagement in Moperville.
@HKMaly – oh yeah, I forgot Tara and Andrea are coming back.
Huh. Had to come back to check, and she is scared here. Neat.
