Apologies for the slight lateness of this post. I fell asleep at my desk, and just now woke up to realize that I had not, in fact, made this post this yesterday, when I thought I had.

Helga came to the Thornton's by way of a recommended agency from Liam's mother to Mary Thornton. Helga is kind and gentle. It can be said that she has been more of a motherly influence in Red's life. Mary ThorntonMary is an intelligent, beautiful woman who found herself the trophy wife of a prominent Hollywood producer. With her son transformed into a female, she sees it as a happy situation that could possibly bring them closer to each other. Comics: 21 |
Tiffany "Red" ThorntonRed was a boy until a new genie tried to get Melvin a girlfriend. That's when the genie turned Red into a girl so Melvin could practice talking to girls, and forgot to turn her back before disappearing. Red is hopeful that her situation is only temporary. Comics: 228 |
there are SO MANY things i wanna say about Panels 3 and 4, but i don’t want Red to K.O. me into next Tuesday. I will say this though: on Panel 4, it’s I CAN BATHE MYSELF, GOD DAMMIT!
Oh shoot, you’re right. I almost never see “bathe” used in writing.
The mom seems nicer than how Bache-Man wrote her and sober.
I dunno, I find the whole “well-intentioned evil” thing makes her seem worse. Also, it’s early morning. She’s probably just not blotto yet.
For me, Helga is the one who seems more off in this scene. Granted, we didn’t see too much of her during the BACH-MANN run, but her eagerness to help Mary here just seems out of character.
Just tell us we’ll see it in the next comic.
So much for Tiffany having choice to being a girl or guy, but, we already knew that. It looks like Tiffany going to be scheming and kicking all the way into her womanhood. As far as Helga response to Tiffany, after all, she is hired help after all. As long as Mary is watching her, she still has to put up a respectable front while Mary is watching her and expecting Helga to perform certain duties and function with Tiffany or she would get fired and she doesn’t want that. It when she is one on one with Tiffany that we are interested in and how she treats her and what kind of relationship they have with each other. Also, there relationship is going to be different, since Tiffany is no longer a guy and so even her mothering nature to Tiffany is going to be different too. Helga may even feel sorry for Tiffany even, but there nothing that she can do Tiffany, except try to smooth things over for her where ever possible. In other words, help ease her into womanhood.
Helga makes me think of those sturdy German barmaids in imported beer commercials, it’s possible that Mary gave Helga a chance when her commercial career ended by being replaced with a younger model. Besides being employed, and paid, by Mary, she might be beholden to Mary for a post-modeling job.
Since I’m good at ducking I will add that the neogirl Tiffany has a very cute behind and the upcoming assisted bathing scene will probably have me laughing a whole lot. Though it will be hard to top chapter 4 of Edda 10 of SGVY by Kittyhawk which features yet another involuntarily TGed teen lad with a gender neutral name, Yuuki.
I’m liking this flashback scene and looking forward to seeing how her first day goes.
Actually, Tiffany has been girl for at least 6 or 7 months or possibly a little longer. She already been to that all girl school last year for about months or so. She had about three months of modeling girls clothing, the cover girl for some game that she plays the hero in, etc. She has already come off of summer vacation and has already gone back to the girl school for maybe a few days or so. Tiffany is suppose to get ready to go back to the girls school, which she doesn’t want to do. That where we are right now.
Did you not read the note under the previous comic? This is a flashback to Red’s very first day at Southeil, hence the title: Red’s First Day, so this is likely only a few days after the dance because I doubt the Thorntons delayed pulling strings to get their neodaughter in. It’s not several months later in this comic; that’s the current storyline that’s still on hiatus. Please make sure of your facts before attempting a correction.
That said your attempt to correct me amused me greatly, better luck next time.
Oh, I will go with that. This is a flash back to the first few day that she became a girl.
Those pink spotted toe socks are very cute on Tiffany. If she ever did get changed back to a boy, I am betting that their is now no a piece of boy’s clothing left in that house that they would fit into.
There are no boy cloth in the house to fit Tiffany, big, small or otherwise. As soon as Tiffany turned into a girl, they had her name changed Clarence to Tiffany and then changed the birth certificate from male to female. While they were doing that, they bought all new female clothing and got rid of all her old cloth that was for a boy. We know this, because, Tiffany goes over to Melvin house when BJ is there too, to raid Melvin closet for male cloth, because, she doesn’t have any left in her closet.
